Garance Nyssen

Garance has been paddling in the waters of the South Pacific since she began her studies at the École du Louvre, specialising in Anthropology and History of the Arts of Oceania. She finished her studies working on contemporary artist George Nuku’s project: Bottled Ocean. It questions the importance of plastic in our societies and its harmful presence in our oceans. Garance is currently lost in the currents of the University of Paris Nanterre in Ethnology. She continues to be interested in museums and their objects by carrying out research on the circulation and return of Polynesian objects to their archipelagos of origin. She is particularly interested in the case of the presumed fragment of the "Wallis maro'ura" kept at the Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac Museum and whose return to French Polynesia is planned for 2022.
